PROJECT SUMMARIES:
My work for POSTFLY began with a few sticker designs for their monthly subscription boxes , which led to several more illustration, product, and package design projects. I was initially approached to design the first, and one and only fly fishing advent calendar in 2021, which I have designed every year since, including a saltwater edition in 2024.
FLY FISHING ADVENT CALENDAR 2021
Each project begins with rough sketches to get ideas going, starting a dialogue, and getting feedback.
POSTFLY Valentine's Day Box
For this project, I was asked to come up with a design for a gift box reminiscent of a classic candy sampler.
ADVENT 2022
For this one, everyone liked the idea of Santa riding a drift boat pulled by trout. I quickly came up with this illustration including a bull trout leading a pack of browns, rainbows, cutthroat, and brook trout. This illustration was so popular with POSTFLY customers that they decided to have me reformat it for a jigsaw puzzle in 2024, which has proved to be a holiday favorite as well.
ADVENT 2023
Santa in his waders, gearing up beside his trusty fishing truck was the theme for this year, and this is what I came up with. I chose a '55 chevy for the truck, and the rough sketch was quickly approved. The only requested change was the truck's paint job, which would change from mint green to a classic hunter green.
HOLIDAY SEASON 2024
Holiday season for 2024 included the classic Advent calendar for trout fishing, as well as a salt water version called The 12 Days of Fishmas. Other projects included concept drawings for ornaments, the aforementioned jigsaw puzzle, and a 16 page illustrated storybook.
